Chinese interpreters have been taking on a vital bridging role between China corporations and local Malaysia corporations for centuries ever since the very first Cheng Ho's visit to Malacca. You may have witnessed expert Chinese interpreters doing interpretation in a wide array of formal events such as press conference interpretation, whispering interpretation during business meetings, technical interpretation during production machine line setup in factories, consecutive interpretation during business presentation or simultaneous interpretation during forums or international conferences.

There are currently hundreds of China, Taiwan and Hong Kong companies based in Malaysia running businesses in professional services and manufacturing fields. At the same time, there are around few million businesses directly or indirectly doing business with China companies. The biggest challenge is when local companies are required to communicate with their China suppliers or clients in Chinese language. English alone may not be sufficient even though the China visitors can speak fluent English. Those who tried to communicate with China people in English would realize that there are a number of misunderstanding or misinterpretation of communication contexts due to the missing of critical info or hints. The most effective Chinese interpreter services is a holistic interpretation considering the whole thinking processes and cultures of Chinese rather than just literal interpretation of words.

There are currently more than 500 professional Chinese interpreters registered with TRANSLIFE which makes us the best translation & interpreting services agency having the biggest team of Chinese interpreters in Malaysia. Our Chinese interpreters are proficient in several language pairs such as Malay to Chinese and vise versa as well as English to Chinese and vice versa. All of them are excellent native speakers of Chinese language and understand China people in depth. They also know well the work culture and the business culture of China. This is important particularly when you want to communicate effectively with your VIP China clients.

Other than Chinese (Mandarin), local Malaysian Chinese interpreters are able to speak in dialects such as Cantonese, Hokkien, Hakka, etc which is an excellent bonus to purely Chinese interpretation. Some Chinese business owners may not be able to understand Chinese well due to their academic background. These people can only speak English, Malay and Chinese dialects. Thus, choosing a Chinese interpreter who can speak dialects is a must instead of an option sometimes.

If you are considering to hire a Chinese interpreter for your upcoming activity, TRANSLIFE's Chinese Interpreter Services is the best option you have. TRANSLIFE offer the best Chinese interpreting services in Malaysia.

Types of Chinese Interpreting Services?

Get It Right!

Consecutive Interpretation

The speaker and the Chinese interpreter will take turn to speak alternately instead of speaking non-stop. The consecutive interpreter will take down notes while the speaker is talking. Once the speaker stops talking, the interpreter will start translating what the speaker just spoke by referring to his own notes.

Suitable Usage:

Business meeting, press conference, technical training or setup in factory, interview, seminar, internal corporate meeting

Whispering Interpretation

The Chinese interpreter will sit behind the audience and interpreter by whispering beside the ear. 1 interpreter usually can only interpret for 1 audience. The maximum audiences for this type of interpretation is 2. Any numbers more than 2 will affect the surrounding people as the interpreter will need to speak loud enough to be heard.

Suitable Usage:

Business meeting, conference, seminar, forum and internal corporate meeting

Simultaneous Interpretation

2 to 3 Chinese interpreters will be sitting in an interpreter booth to interpret. Each interpreter will take turn to interpret every 15 to 20 minutes which is the optimum focus time. If the interpreter translates longer than that, the quality of interpretation will be affected as he will start losing his focus. While 1 interpreter is in action, the other interpreter will be resting to recover.

Suitable Usage:

Forum, seminar, conference & site visit

Should I use Native Chinese interpreter?

At TRANSLIFE we realize that the most effective interpretations are done when a native speaker takes the reigns. Even if one is fluent in a language, you know that a slight accent is a giveaway and that particular cultural references or nuances are almost impossible to grasp if you are not raised speaking the language.

Hence, you need to let us know who your audiences are first before we assign the right interpreters for you.You should always choose a native Chinese interpreter instead of some interpreters who speak Chinese as second language.

We make it the first priority to only engage native-speaking Chinese interpreters who are fluent in the target language and fully immersed in the culture. We believe that this is the best way to make sure your message is heard and received with the right sentiment without risking to unintentionally offend the target audience.

All our Chinese interpreters have impeccable credentials such as:

1) At least conference interpretation degree from an accredited university or academic program or undergraduate degrees in their interpretive language;
2) Professional memberships and affiliations with ITBM, MTA or other world’s leading interpretation organizations, the bulk of which require a thorough review process before becoming a member;
3) At least 5 years of professional conference interpreting experience
